Caitlyn and Billy's Brown County State Park Engagements
I haven't lived in Indiana very long and as a California native, well, we will just say that the scenery in the Hoosier state has a lot to live up to. I have always found that Indiana is gorgeous in its own way, but I have always said its biggest flaw is that it's so flat. Enter: Brown County. I had never been to Brown County State Park, so when Caitlyn and Billy chose their Fall themed engagement shoot to be there- I was pretty excited.
Being in this stunning place was the closest I've felt to home in a long time. The color of the leaves was just breathtaking. There were hills! I knew it would be impossible to take a bad photo in this place, especially knowing that I had two great models.
The day started a little chillier than we expected, but as the day went on- it warmed up nice. Caitlyn and Billy seemed right at home in nature. In fact Billy taught me so much I didn't know about beavers that I'm now a self proclaimed expert. These two had already been camping out there for a day or two which was absolutely great because the park is a maze of of trails. Their expertise in directions was much appreciated by this newbie.
This couple didn't need a beautiful, scenic backdrop to make their photos turn out amazing. The chemistry between them is apparent and that alone would have made for perfectly geniune photos. Shooting engagement photos for my clients is one of my favorite parts of the wedding photography process. It is the first time I really get to see my couples open up to each other and capture their love from behind my lens. I really get, sort of, a sneak peak of what their wedding will be and getting to know them as a couple, as clients, and as friends is an invaluable part of my journey. I know their wedding will be perfect and I can't wait to spend that day catching it all on film.
